What is Pelvic Physical Therapy?

Simply put, it’s treatment for issues “nipples-to-knees” & so much more.

It’s a specialty physical therapy service aimed toward treating problems of bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction. It also aims to address pain in this area of the body that no one else has successfully treated. Yes, that includes low back pain that hasn’t responded to or resolved with other treatments.

  • Pregnancy & Postpartum

Congratulations! It’s never too early to prepare your body to carry a child or too late to work towards recovery. Our pelvic specialist can help you prevent pain in pregnancy, gain strength and mobility, and even teach you how to push effectively during delivery.

  • Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain affects people of all shapes, sizes, and sexes. We have a specialist who treats pain in the low back, tailbone, rectum, penis, testicles, vulva, even the hip or groin.

  • Women's Pelvic Health

Maybe your mom taught you it is normal to have urine leakage because you’ve carried babies. Maybe every woman in your family has had a bladder surgery. Maybe you’ve been told that pain with sex is unavoidable.

None of these are normal, and it’s not healthy to ignore these problems.

  • Prostate-Related Pelvic Dysfunction

Urinary incontinence is very common after prostate removal, and research shows that pelvic floor muscle training with a pelvic physical therapist leads to quicker post-operative urinary control than without the guidance of a PT. Why leak longer than you have to?

  • Bowel Dysfunction

Our pelvic specialist can also treat constipation and fecal leakage. Although these issues are common, they are not normal or healthy and they should be addressed by a professional.

  • Other Conditions

Don’t see your issue listed here? Please reach out and ask about it.
